Charles City man indicted for allegedly embezzling from Pilot Travel Center in Talleysville

A Charles City man who is a former employee at the Pilot in Talleysville has been indicted by a New Kent grand jury.

Thomas Alexander Bevis, 28, of the 4500 block of Rockinghorse Lane, was indicted on a lone charge of felony embezzlement. The indictment alleges that Bevis stole more than $1,000 of goods and items while working at the Pilot Travel Center on Nov. 2, 2021.

In other indictments certified by the grand jury:

–Tra’Juan Antwone Bates, 23, of the 300 block of Pleasant Lane, Petersburg, on one count each of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute (greater than one-half ounce but less than five pounds) and misdemeanor failure to appear. Bates allegedly was trying to sell the substance on May 8, 2021, and failed to show up for his court date.

–Antonia Tameka Brown, 43, of the 5400 block of Mistyhill Road, North Chesterfield, on a lone count of extortion. Brown allegedly threatened her victim through writing on Aug. 27, 2021.

–Brittany Leah Carter, 29, of the 9900 block of East Cork Road, Toano, on a single charge of possession of a Schedule I/II substance. Carter allegedly possessed methamphetamine on July 9, 2021.

–Alan James Jennings, 50, of the 6300 block of Mihalcoe Lane, Providence Forge, on one count each of strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery. The offenses allegedly took place on Dec. 5, 2021.

–Michael Anthony Jones, 50, of the 6000 block of Cathedral Road, Fredericksburg, on one charge each of strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery. Jones allegedly committed the offenses on Sept. 5, 2021.

–Deshawn T. Jones, 39, of the 1500 block of Hilton Street, Norfolk, on a solo count of possession of a firearm by a nonviolent felon. Jones allegedly possessed the weapon on July 3, 2021.

–Michael Lee Jones, 40, of the 13000 block of Matthews West Drive, Centreville, on two counts of extortion. Jones allegedly wrote threatening letters to a victim on Oct. 13-14, 2021.

–Alison Aurelia Langhorne, 35, currently of Henrico Jail East, on a single count of possession of marijuana by a prisoner. Langhorne allegedly had the substance in her possession on Oct. 10, 2021.

–Roger Lee Little Jr., 53, of the 1700 block of Lee Street, West Point, on a single charge of felony eluding. Little allegedly ran from authorities on Dec. 7, 2021.

–Tracy Lee Neves, 49, of 4 Ansell Avenue, Fredericksburg, on one charge each of possession of a Schedule I/II drug, grand theft auto, misdemeanor fleeing from police, and misdemeanor providing false information to a police officer. Neves allegedly ran from police on May 10, 2021 and stole a vehicle belonging to Cole Faison. The defendant allegedly also had methamphetamine upon being arrested.
