River’s Rest in Charles City reopens under new ownership
River’s Rest Marina and Resort in Charles City County is under new ownership.
Blue Water and National Land Lease Capital (NLLC), based out of Maryland, took ownership of the property on Apr. 1, 2022. NLLC acquired the property in 2019 via a foreclosure auction and completed a renovation, expansion, and rezoning of the property.
River’s Rest offers guests 126 seasonal RV sites and three tiny homes for visitors. Visitors can also stay at The Inn at River’s Rest on the 16.5-acre property. Leisure activities include water sports, fishing on the Chickahominy Rivers, spending time relaxing in the pool, and eating in the resort’s on-site restaurant, The Blue Heron.
The resort will continue to host the Carefree Boat Club, which will have four slips and boats on site for the members of the club. Two boats will be available to rent for River’s Rest guests based on availability.
“River’s Rest was built in true partnership with Charles City County,” said Yogi Singh of Partner NLLC. “We were thrilled with the community’s response and comment the county’s residents and officials for recognizing that the outdoor hospitality industry is rapidly expanding and provides jobs, revenue, opportunities for outdoor access, and brings tourism to their doorstep.”
A grand opening was scheduled to take place on Thursday, Apr. 14.
