Capensis captures Virginia Derby

Capensis emerged as the winner of the 19th Annual Virginia Derby held at Colonial Downs in New Kent County Tuesday afternoon. Ridden by Irad Ortiz Jr., the horse crossed the finish line for the $300,000 purse. Pictured above are New Kent County supervisors, along with Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, as well as the owners of Capensis.
