NKCPS wins social media award

New Kent County Public Schools received the Changing Public Perception Through Social Media Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACo) on May 19. Following a programming guide developed by Ashlee Meredith (above), who is the school system’s technology trainer and digital content creator, they began expanding the social media presence of the New Kent County Public School System. In addition, Meredith trained student interns (below) Brett Lookhart, Campbell Proffitt, Serra Swartout, and Margaret Winters who all developed original content with ‘Lil Nichols’, a replica doll of New Kent Superintendent of Schools Brian Nichols who explored the school campuses and other community events.
