Candidate for New Kent County Sheriff: Lee Bailey

Experience: Started as a cadet with New Kent Fire Department at age of 14, worked as Richmond Public Safety Officer for three-and-a-half years, and has 30 years of experience in New Kent Sheriff’s Office with roles that include patrol deputy, school resource officer, and current Lieutenant Deputy.

Reason for running: “I love New Kent County and I love the citizens. I love the dedicated men and women of the agency, and this has been a lifelong dream. With Sheriff Joe McLaughlin Jr. retiring, I believe the time is here.”

Why people should vote for you: “I am honest, dedicated, hardworking and I bring credibility to the department. I have been on several committees, especially when it comes to traffic safety, and I believe that my experience is something that citizens can count on to keep New Kent County safe.”
