Candidate for Charles City Board of Supervisors District 3: Martha Harris

Experience: Twelve years on Charles City’s School Board, 40 years in state government with 16 years working with VDOT and 11 years in Department of Human Resource Management, Master’s Degree in Public Administration.

Reason for running: “I am running for election to ensure the needs of our elderly population, our youth, and our citizens in general are met. Currently, there is no designated person(s) who ensures the needs of our elderly population are addressed proactively. There is also a need for effective collaboration between the county government and our youth organizations.”

Why people should vote for you: “A citizen’s vote should not be taken for granted and individuals serve at the pleasure of citizens. When a citizen has a question or concern, elected officials should be responsive. I truly believe the same applies to county government as it does to the school board. I vow to represent the county, as well as District 3, with all that I have.”
