New Kent County Public Schools ‘Teacher of the Year’

New Kent Superintendent of Schools Brian Nichols (left) and New Kent High School Principal Allison Strickland (right) presents flowers to New Kent High School science teacher Leigh Anne Jordan as she is named the New Kent County Public Schools Division Teacher of the Year. Jordan was praised for her journey as she started as a long-term substitute and became a biology and environmental science teacher. In addition, she was recognized for her ability to be adaptable, resilient, and be involved in the New Kent County Public Schools community.

Rachel Fini is named New Kent Middle School’s Teacher of the Year.

Pre-K instructor Kelsie Schmidt received the honor of Teacher of the Year at George Watkins Elementary.

School counselor Sally Cochran was recognized with the honor at New Kent Elementary School.

Quinton Elementary School Teacher of the Year recipient Lauren Laws received the honor at her institution.
