Lady Trojans compiles 10-0 shutout to win eighth consecutive game

New Kent’s Lady Trojans continued their strong season, dismantling the visiting Smithfield Lady Packers 10-0 in last Friday’s home contest.

Every Lady Trojan contributed at the plate as each batter recorded a hit. Meanwhile, New Kent pitcher Abbie Kegley kept Smithfield batters off balance with her pitching.

New Kent began their offensive explosion in the second inning as Brooklyn Wiles singled and was subsequently driven home by Kenley Rowe. New Kent held a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth when they added five more runs, courtesy of Hannah Tober and Mariah Leonard. With the 10-0 lead, the game was called due to the mercy rule.

New Kent sealed its eighth consecutive victory and improves to 14-3.
