Johnson notches two silvers as Lady Panthers finish tenth in Region 1A Championships

Charles City’s Derequa Johnson earned two silver medals as Charles City’s Lady Panthers scored 32 points to finish 10th at the Region 1A Track and Field Championships at their home venue.
Johnson placed second in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles (15.66) and girls’ triple jump (33’8”). Johnson also finished fourth in the girls’ 100-meter dash (13.09), with teammate Jaida Braxton finishing fifth in the event (13.14). The duo was joined by Jewel Otey and Madison Bradby in the girls’ 4×100 meter relay, running a state qualifying time of 53.83, placing fifth in the event..
Rappahannock’s Lady Raiders scored 84 points to win the meet. Charles City’s boys’ team did not participate in the meet, with Middlesex’s boys’ team winning their portion with 146.5 points.
