George N. Simmons

George N. Simmons lost his long battle with cancer and gained his angel wings on Oct. 7, 2025, surrounded by what meant the most to him, his beloved family.
George was born on Dec. 15, 1948, in Bath County, Virginia, where he grew up on a dairy farm. He joined the United States Army in 1965. In 1986, he started his own electrical business, Simmons Electric, in Quinton, where he retired from after 30 years.
George loved to be outdoors and working with his hands. He had the most gorgeous flowerbeds which he lovingly attended to because he knew how much is wife loved flowers, and he loved her more than life. George made several pieces of furniture, wooden ornaments, and gifts for the family that he designed and made from wood that he milled himself.
Having a close family meant everything to George. He dedicated his life to making sure we all knew the importance of loving and supporting each other. He loved to see the whole family come for Sunday dinner so he could watch the next generation grow up playing together.
