Richmond man receives 104-year prison sentence for crimes against minor in New Kent
A Richmond man who committed crimes against a minor in 2010 was hit with a sentence that will likely keep him in prison for the rest of his life.
Lonnie Dwayne Taylor was sentenced to more than 100 years in prison during Monday morning proceedings in New Kent Circuit Court.
During a two-day trial this past June, a jury heard the case against Taylor. During that jury trial, testimony from the victim, who was underage at the time when the offense took place in 2010, revealed details of sexual encounters with Taylor. The graphic details along with a case put together by the prosecution were enough for the jury to find the defendant guilty of the offense.
Taylor was sentenced to 99 years in prison on one count of sodomy with a victim 13 years old or less. He also received a 10-year sentence with five years suspended (five years to serve) on a conviction of sexual penetration with an object. All 10 years on having indecent liberties with a minor were suspended. In total, Taylor received a 104-year prison sentence.
In another circuit court matter, Barry Wayne Hague, 60, of the 2300 block of Maplewood Road, Richmond, saw one charge of possession of a Schedule I/II drug dismissed after successfully completing the First Offender Program.
