NKMS Theatre earns platinum VTA award

New Kent Middle School’s Theatre Department received a platinum rating from the Virginia Theatre Association’s Middle School Play Festival. The rating, which is the highest that can be received at the event, was for the group’s production of “Ariadne’s Thread: The Adventure of Theseus and the Minotaur.” The group was praised for their performance, as well as awards for best choreography, “The Chorus is the Star” award, best costumes, and best ensemble. In addition, Lilly Batchelder, Kayleigh Friedel, Gavin O’Neal, and Mady Taggert, received all-star cast medals, while Liam Courtney and Kieran Phillips were named as top actors.
