The New Kent Trojans’ baseball team wrapped up their regular season with a May 20 Senior Day victory over the visiting Jamestown Eagles.
The visiting Eagles opened the contest with a run in the top of the first. But New Kent began orchestrating scores in the bottom half of the second inning. Keegan Branch’s RBI double drove in Dylan Bowman to tie the score at one apiece. Jonathan Hochman’s single brought in run number two for the hosts.
New Kent loaded the bases after Broady Cash was hit-by-a-pitch. A sacrifice fly by Andrew Staskiel drove home the third run of the contest for the Trojans.
The Trojans continued their dominance, pushing across six more runs before closing out the contest.
New Kent Head Coach Trevor Ronan expressed joy in his team’s great season.
“I thought the team played well after the first,” he said. “In the second, everything came together and we did well from there.”
New Kent finishes the season with a 19-2 record.
