New Kent’s Griffith, Holloway score at Class 3A State Track and Field Championships

Two New Kent athletes were able to put points on the board at the Class 3A State Track & Field Championships held this past weekend at Liberty University.

On the girls’ side, Ryan Griffith was the top performer for the Lady Trojans. Griffith finished seventh in the girls’ triple jump competition with a leap of 35’5¾”.

On the boys’ side, Liam Holloway’s clearance of 13’0” in the pole vault competition snagged him an eighth-place finish in the competition.

New Kent’s Lady Trojans placed 31st at the state competition with two points, while the boys’ team placed 37th with one point. Heritage of Lynchburg’s girls’ team and Lord Botetourt boys’ team won the state competition, respectfully.
