Quinton man receives 30 months in prison for possessing drugs in New Kent
A Quinton man will spend two-and-a-half years in prison for possessing drugs in New Kent.
Michael Adam Davis, 53, of the 6400 block of Maple Road, learned his term of imprisonment during Monday proceedings in New Kent Circuit Court.
During an Apr. 27 trial, Davis was convicted for possessing cocaine. During that trial, evidence presented showed that on June 14, 2025, Davis was sitting in a car after a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle by authorities discovered a smoking pipe with a white substance inside of it. The substance was sent to a forensics lab and was identified positively as cocaine. Davis was arrested on the offense.
Davis received a 10-year sentence with seven years, six months suspended (two years, six months to serve).
In other circuit court proceedings:
–Nathaniel Lee Boltz, 35, of the 7900 block of Point Lookout, West Point, pled guilty to a single count of possession of a gun while possessing a Schedule I/II substance as part of an agreement.
In a summary of evidence provided by New Kent Commonwealth’s Attorney Scott Renick, on Mar. 13, 2025, a New Kent deputy received a call from an off-duty officer about an individual slumped over their steering wheel at a gas station. The deputy drove to the station and observed the vehicle pulling out. The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Boltz, through previous interactions. Boltz was asked to step out of the car and when he did, he attempted to take something out of his pocket. The officer prevented Boltz from doing so and conducted a pat down. The deputy recovered a pipe with a substance inside of the defendant’s pocket and removed it, placing Boltz into custody. A search of the vehicle yielded the discovery of a .40 caliber Smith & Wesson gun in a black bag.
Under the plea agreement, a presentence report is being prepared as Boltz’s conviction triggered a probation violation as well. The plea agreement calls for him to receive a five-year sentence with four years, three months suspended (nine months to serve). Formal sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 24.
–Destiny D. Leslie, 27, of the 700 block of Adams Drive, Newport News, entered a guilty plea to an amended charge of misdemeanor unauthorized use of a vehicle (originally felony unauthorized use of a vehicle) as part of a plea agreement.
In a summary of evidence, on Sept. 11, 2024, the Virginis State Police received a be-on-the-lookout for a white Chevrolet Suburban that had possibly been stolen out of Chesapeake. The vehicle was located at the BP Gas Station off Route 33, and as the trooper approached, they noticed a woman, later identified as Leslie, sitting in the passenger side of the vehicle. The officer questioned Leslie if she was driving the vehicle, with the defendant responding that she wasn’t. However, the trooper saw a key fob in her hand and asked if it was for the vehicle she was in. She said it was and after further investigation, Leslie was taken into custody.
Under the agreement, Leslie received a 12-month sentence with 10 months suspended (two months to serve).
–Angel Misael Vasquez Madrigal, 42, of the 2400 block of Hobart Road, Richmond, entered a guilty plea to a single count of possession of a Schedule I/II drug as part of a plea agreement.
In a summary of evidence, Madrigal was found to be in possession of Fentanyl on May 25, 2025, after an investigation by officers discovered the substance.
Under the plea agreement, no formal finding was rendered as Madrigal will be placed in the First Offender Program. If he successfully completes the one-year program, the charge will be dismissed.
