Christian receives contract extension

Jamion Christian, a 2000 graduate of New Kent High School and current head basketball coach at Mount St. Mary’s University, has received a contract extension to remain at the position.

Christian is entering his third year as head coach for the Mountaineers. In the first year, he led the team to a 18-14 record. During his second year, Christian led Mount St. Mary’s to the Northeast Conference Championship and a berth in the NCAA tournament.

Christian’s extension will carry his contract into the 2018-19 season.

Christian and Mount St. Mary’s University are scheduled to return to Virginia on Dec. 29 to take on the Old Dominion University Monarchs in Norfolk.
