Theme chosen for Dogwood Classic

Thanks to reader suggestions and contesting done via richmond.com, the theme for the inaugural Dogwood Classic, five steeplechase races to be held Saturday, April 6 at Colonial Downs, is “The Wild, Wild West.”

The winning theme was pitted against four others in an on-line poll for 10 days and suggested by Blair Lownsbery of Richmond, who won a vehicle tailgating spot at the “Classic” as a result.

The winning theme received 28.8 percent of the total votes while “The Rat Pack” and “Seersuckers ‘n Sundresses” tied for second with 23.3 percent.
