Letter to the editor: Criticizes NK board for targeting commission

My first thought to the recent article that certain Board of Supervisors members are “targeting” Planning Commission members is the thought of immaturity.

I believe that our Board of Supervisors needs to focus on more important issues at hand rather than giving our county less representation. These would include issues such as the proposal of Liberty Landing. I am still uncertain as to whether our Board of Supervisors is actually against this proposal.

Our current Planning Commission does a great job and gives us the necessary representation that our county deserves. This includes representation that is compiled from the feedback of our county citizens and representation of what is best for our county at that current time.

At times I wonder if the Board of Supervisors even understands who places them in office. Such times are when they consider proposals such as the above mentioned, while clearly the majority of residents in our county and the 10 members of our Planning Commission are adamantly against the proposal.

This seems more like a listening problem from our Board of Supervisors rather than our Planning Commission. I would encourage all citizens of our great county to remember these above statements during the next local election.

I hope this letter encourages more support from our citizens to stand up for the representation of our county, and let’s not allow any Board of Supervisors member to manipulate the big picture.
