NK Finance earns ninth straight award

New Kent’s financial service department received its ninth consecutive award for excellence in financial reporting.

The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) awards a certificate for a locality’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).

“The attainment of this award demonstrates the commitment of the [New Kent] Board of Supervisors, as well as management and staff to full disclosure, transparency, and professional presentation of our local government,” said director of financial services Mary Altemus.

The certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
