Bonnie Gardner (left) and Shirley Temple (right) are among retirees from Charles City County’s school system in 2013. Gardner’s duties over the last 38 years included grant research and home/school coordination for at-risk students, while Temple instructed science at a secondary level for 35 years. Each lady received a plaque and a clock for their contributions to education in Charles City.
