Application process underway for New Kent Christmas Mother program
New Kent Christmas Mother program has opened the application process for the upcoming holiday season.
The program is managed jointly by the Bottom of the Bridge LaSertoma club and the LaSertoma and Shore to Shore LaSertoma club. The two clubs promote friendship, fellowship, and supports philanthropic endeavors within the community and internationally, as well as coordinate with others in the community to provide food, clothes, and gifts to families.
The Christmas mother program is dedicated to provide gifts to local children to make sure each can celebrate the holiday.
The program is seeking assistance and sponsors in an effort to help provide gifts to families. There are several ways to sponsor during the holiday season:
–Sponsorship at Angel trees throughout the county. Trees are located at the Quinton and Providence Forge branches of Citizens & Farmers Bank. Toys and other gifts can be donated to match wish list requests.
–Sponsor a family through the Christmas Mother program. Volunteers will provide details and information after gifts are purchase. Call 966-9209 to access the hotline. All gifts are needed by Monday, Dec. 9.
–Donating new items, such as toys, clothing, or books to the program.
–Placing spare change cans at businesses, with all gifts and contributions providing for the program.

Deadline for contributions is Dec. 9. To arrange for gifts or non-perishable food to be picked up, please call the hotline at 966-9209.
