Letter to the editor: Leaving New Kent with a heavy heart

In the weeks ahead, my husband Bobby and I will be preparing to leave New Kent. In our nearly 20 years here, we have grown to love New Kent and it has become our second hometown.

As we so hoped, it was just the right place to bring up our daughter Devi. There are many things unique to New Kent that we will miss…from the Chronicle, our beloved Greenwood Estates, the county fair, the annual turkey dinner, Santa driving through neighborhoods on a firetruck… to the people we have encountered over the years who have all played a part in a most wonderful experience. I could not leave this area without acknowledging and expressing our thanks to all who have touched our lives. We are the better for it.

We will miss you and we will never forget.
