New Kent’s Teacher of the Year 2014-15

Above, New Kent Superintendent of Schools Rick Richardson presents New Kent Middle School health and physical education teacher Laurie Weaver a plaque as the school district's Teacher of the Year during the school board's May 5 monthly meeting. Weaver is in her 21st year in the school system and also works as the athletic director for the middle school. Below (l to r), New Kent High School's John Spiak, Weaver, New Kent Elementary School's Catherine Bruner, and George Watkins Elementary School's Jordan Whitmore are all recognized as their respective schools' teachers of the year.
