New Kent Cooperative Extension Office offering summer clinics
New Kent Cooperative Extension Office is offering two clinics for county residents beginning at the end of July.
On July 31, a lawn care clinic will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the New Kent Extension Office. This free clinic will teach methods of establishing, maintaining a healthy lawn, and the importance of soil testing. Space is limited for the clinic, so reservations are required for the class.
On Aug. 2, the office will host a Raised Bed Gardening Clinic from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. The free clinic, conducted by Master Gardeners, will consist of classes on horticulture in an effort to promote strong land ethic, good health, and a higher quality of life of the raised bed gardening with vegetables. Other topics include what it takes to have a successful vegetable garden, garden design, and good soil composition.
