GRASP scholarship winners from New Kent, Charles City named

Greater Aspirations Scholarship Program (GRASP), a non-profit educational organization, has announced its 2014 scholarship winners from Charles City and New Kent County.

Jessica Hill, Daija Johnson, and Casey Richardson, recent graduates from Charles City High School, and Anna Mathis, a recent graduate from New Kent High School, were four of the 163 recipients of “Last Dollar” scholarships from the organization.

The scholarship is awarded to students to help overcome financial and social barriers in an effort to obtain education after graduating high school. This year total scholarship money provided by GRASP totals $161,000.
