Miles-Adkins

Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan David Miles (Stormie Darlene Adkins).

Miss Stormie Darlene Adkins and Mr. Jonathan David Miles were joined in marriage on July 26, 2014 at Samaria Baptist Church in Charles City, Virginia, by Bishop Marcus D. Campbell Sr.

Stormie is the daughter of Preston and Tina Adkins of Charles City, and the granddaughter of Mrs. Ruth Adkins.

Jonathan is the son of Floyd and Clem Miles of Charles City, and the grandson of Mrs. Etta Jones and the late Mr. Archer Jones Sr.

Stormie was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

Mrs. Leslie Moody, cousin of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Janeequa Burford, Paige Hall, Sara Mahmoud, Lena Richards, Charlotte Yates, and Sara Whitehead. Little Miss Kale’yah Miles, daughter of the groom, and Little Miss La’von Allen, were flower girls.

Mr. Vance Richards, friend of the groom, served as the best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Wesley Adkins, Garon Bowman, Arthur Doss, Floyd Miles Jr., Michael Miles, and Tony Wallace. Marcus Campbell Jr. and Cash Morgan served as ring bearers.

Mr. Sean Grandison was pianist for the ceremony, and Mr. Antwan Brown was the soloist/vocalist.

Stormie and Jonathan performed the sand ceremony with Kale’yah, signifying the bonding of the family as one through intertwining grains.

A reception was held at the Chickahominy Tribal Center in Charles City, where guests enjoyed music and an evening dinner. The couple participated in the ceremonial cutting of the cake and mingling with family and friends.

Jonathan is a 2005 graduate of Virginia State University and a graduate of the Virginia State Police 110th basic session in Aug. 2005. He is currently employed by the Virginia State Police. Stormie is a nursing major at Rappahannock Community College.

The couple had their honeymoon in the St. Thomas Islands. They now make their home in Charles City.
