RCC expands satellite services to New Kent

Rappahannock Community College (RCC) has opened a satellite learning site in New Kent County.

The site will introduce a success plan to provide support and individual attention services to students to orient them towards a college education and prepare academic plans that lead towards graduation.

New Kent received interest as a site after the introduction of Bridging Communities Career and Technical Center (BCCTC).The school will host clinics that will have well-trained success coaches to introduce students to college plans and nurture their interest into getting an education. Other services include coaches offering social support, enhancing confidence, and instilling study skills. The coaches will also be able to keep track of student progress after they have enrolled through its SAILS (Student Assistance Intervention for Learning Success) program.

RCC’s success coaches will be at BCCTC each Tuesday, 4-7 p.m. to receive questions, comments, or to provide additional information on the program.
