Letter to the Editor: Wants adult volleyball program in New Kent

A few years ago, New Kent County had an adult volleyball program in the Fall/Winter at one of the local schools. It was a lot of fun and it was informal. Show up, do some skill and warm-up training, and form teams to play for fun.

The county of New Kent’s recreational department is willing to reinstate that program if enough “volleyball enthusiasts” are interested in an adult volleyball. This is currently not listed in their recreations program for Fall or Winter, but the recreation department is willing to add a program if enough individuals show interest. The potential site would be George Watkins Elementary School with the only criteria required is that adults age 18 and older participate. It would be an “open gym” format based on fun, with no skill level required.

We need a list of interested players to proceed in notifying New Kent recreational department. The county would did reinstate the program.
