NKMS Jr. Beta Club winners

Jillian Schmid (above) and Nekhita Kassey (below) were first place winners in the poetry and watercolors division, respectively, as they were just a few of the representatives from New Kent Middle School Jr. Beta Club at a state convention on Feb. 23-24 in Hampton. Approximately 48 members of the club attended, participating in a variety of competitions ranging from creativity to intuitive thinking. Next, Benjamin Wilson earned a third place finish in the history category while the duo of Andy Miller and Justin Jones (bottom) earned a second place finish in technology. The Beta Club’s Quiz Bowl team was also successful, finishing in fourth place.
