Smith honored as 2015 business star

Jackie Smith, president of New Kent Coatings Inc., received the nation’s premier award for excellence among women’s business enterprises (WBE) bestowed by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) during its Salute to Women’s Business Enterprises on March 19.

The annual gala convened with more than 1,500 corporate and government executives, WBEs, and members of the WBENC’s Regional Partner Organizations (RPOs).

“I am honored to receive this award and grateful for all of the support I have received from the WPEO-DC, WBENC, my team, customers, friends, and family,” Smith said in a press release.

Smith was recognized for her business acoomplishments, inspiration to other women, and her active role at the helm of New Kent Coatings. She was selected for the honor by the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization of DC.
