BCCTC SkillsUSA winners

New Kent High and Bridging Communities Career and Technical Center students Sara Jo Buchanan (left) and Chase Williams (right) were gold medal winners in the SkillsUSA state competition and will represent Virginia in the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills conference in Louisville, KY this June. Buchanan earned her gold medal in the "Action Skills" event with a presentation on "How to make a traffic stop" within her category of Criminal Justice field, while Williams earned his trip by competing in the HVACR category, passing aseries of test with high scores that assessed skills identified by the industry's standards.
