Re-accreditation for NKSO

New Kent County Sheriff F.W. "Wakie" Howard Jr. (second from left) accepts an award from representatives of Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission as the sheriff's department is recognized for earning re-accreditation. The certificate acknowledges standards and practices by sheriff's departments throughout the state for excellence and commitment to the community. Howard, along with Chief Deputy J. Joseph McLaughlin Jr. (left) helped spearhead the program that has become the measurement of accountability of sheriff's departments throughout the state. Howard also thanked Maria Davenport who helped handle all the paperwork and documents to help NKSO receive the re-accreditation. Andre' Jones photo
