Bortnick, Sikes to headline Arts Alive Sept. 19

Ethan Bortnick, a 14-year old musician and philanthropist, and Mary Montague Sikes, a writer and author, will be present at the Robinson-Olsson Civic Auditorium in West Point as part of the Arts Alive series on Sept. 19.

Bortnick is recognized by Guinness World Records as the youngest solo musician to headline his own concert tour. He has also appeared on a number of popular television shows and channels including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Disney Channel, Oprah, and Good Morning America. He has many performances that have appeared on public television and has raised over $40 million for non-profit organizations around the world.
Bortnick will be providing a free informal session for students at 2 p.m. A performance will be held at 7 p.m. at the Robinson-Olsson center, with cost $25/adult, $20/seniors, and $10/students.

Sikes will also be present at the auditorium on Sept. 19. Sikes is an author and artist who has written novels including “Evening of the Dragonfly” and “Daddy’s Christmas Angel.” She will be having a one-person exhibition of her paintings which depicts some of her settings for her stories. A book signing and reception will be held at 6 p.m. in the auditorium prior to Bortnick’s performance.
