HistoryMobile coming to New Kent Nov. 5-7

Virginia’s Civil War HistoryMobile will be rolling into New Kent County for a three-day visit beginning on Thursday, Nov. 5 and concluding Saturday, Nov. 7.

The HistoryMobile exhibit, an initiative of Virginia Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War Commission, will be located in the parking lot of the school board office. It will be opened from 8 am.-3 pm. On Thursday and Friday, and from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday.

Admission is free to the general public. Other highlights of the exhibit include the 1909 New Kent Historic Courthouse. On Saturday, re-enactor will be present, as well as New Kent Historic Jail being opened. New Kent Veterans will be honored with its “Military Roll of Honor” exhibit from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church.
