A resolution for Wakie

Charles City Board of Supervisor's chairman Gilbert Smith (left) presents New Kent County Sheriff F.W. "Wakie" Howard Jr. (right) a resolution to honor the retiring officer during the board's regular monthly meeting on Oct. 27. In what is expected to be one of many stops to come as he nears his retirement date, Howard, who was raised in Charles City, was thanked by supervisors for his contributions and assistance to Charles City Sheriff's Office that includes mutual aid, animal control, and bereavement coverage from neighboring New Kent Sheriff's Office.
