Success at states

New Kent High School's competitive cheerleading squad recently completed its season with an appearance in the Group 3A State championships. The team began its journey with a third place finish in the Conference 25 championships and followed that with a fourth place finish in the Group 3A East regional championships. The team concluded the season on Nov. 7 by placing eighth in state competition. Team members are Jenna Brinkley, Kenzie Douglas, MaKayla Fitzgerald, Hannah Gentry, Sierra Heath, Madi Hinman, Kenzie Hodge, Jessica Jack, Emma LaBarr, Mary Rose Lawson, Darian Leeds, Maggie Oakes, Katie Schrader, LeeAnn Testerman, Kalia Woods, Amber Beach, Savannah Brady, Mackenzie Taylor, and Emily McCartney. The team was coached by Meagan Southward and managed by Haley Curle.
