New Kent Odyssey of the Mind teams celebrate recent success

Students from New Kent schools recently achieved success in regional Odyssey of the Mind competition. Students were required to construct either vehicles or bridges made of balsa wood to hold weights. Each team from the school also participated at the state level. Survivor Day programs in CC, NK is June 13

Central Virginia Emergency Management Alliance (CVEMA) will host its sixth annual Survivor Day on Saturday, June 13, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. at locations in central Virginia, including Charles City and New Kent. The event is focused on providing citizens ways to prepare in case of emergencies and disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and other hazards. Attendees will learn how to survive their home without power for at least 72 hours and what to take with them should they need to leave their home.
