Recognized for service

Charles R. Bowery Jr. (left), a Quinton native and 1988 graduate of New Kent High School, was recently recognized during a retirement ceremony from the U.S. Army and appointed to the Department of Defense Senior Executive Service. Above, he is shown being awarded the Legion of Merit by Lt. General Kevin W. Magnum. Bowery currently resides in Washington D.C. with his wife, Mary Ann and is the son of Emma Bowery of Quinton and the late Charles R. Bowery.
