Charles City voters reminded of deadlines for local elections
The Constitution of Virginia requires that you be registered in the precinct in which you live in order to be qualified to vote.
Dual Democratic/Republic Primary, Fourth Congressional District Election is being held on Tuesday, June 14, in Charles City. In order to vote, you must be registered by May 23, 5 p.m.
The General Registrar’s Office is open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (5 p.m. on May 23) and will be open on Saturday, June 11 for the convenience of registered voters who may need to vote by absentee ballot.
Absentee ballot applications must be received by June 7, 5 p.m. Ballots can be mailed, faxed, or emailed to the general registrar’s office.
*Charles City was re-districted to the Fourth Congressional District with Randy Forbes, Republican, now as our House of Representatives. Bobby Scott, Democrat of Third Congressional District, will no longer be representing Charles City.
A photo ID is required to vote. If you do not have one, contact the registrar’s office for arrangements for a free photo ID.
