New Kent youth to lead YADAPP conference
Two New Kent youth have been selected as peer leaders for the Youth Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Project (YADAPP) from July 18-22 at Longwood University.
Cleniesteen Lloyd and Emily McCartney were among 58 students chosen to conduct activities as volunteer leaders during the week long conference. They will be part of a staff that will guide student participants through programs and help develop strategies to prevent high school substance use within their own school and community.
The YADAPP program is one of the many courses offered by Virginia ABC to provide education and prevention initiatives and promote alcohol education programs.
