Empty Bowls Project fundraiser, silent auction concludes Dec. 14

New Kent High School’s culinary arts department is holding its third annual Empty Bowls project.

Under the direction of Susan Musselman, the project serves as a fundraiser where students create pottery to sell at a silent auction. Funds raised from the auction will go towards purchasing food for New Kent County’s social services food pantry.

In conjunction with the project, a “Chili and Check Nite” will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 6 p.m. in the high school’s culinary arts room. Bowl bid winners will have the opportunity to pickup their bowl and will have chili served to them.
