NKHS ‘Empty Bowls’ project raises $988 for food pantry
New Kent High School’s culinary arts department concluded its third annual Empty Bowls project and raised money for a local organization.
Students created 70 bowls that were auctioned, raising $988 for the New Kent County social services food pantry. A chili night accompanied the auction as winning bidders received the meal in their bowls.
Under the direction of high school teacher Susan Musselman, the project has raised $2,774 over a three-year span.
