New Kent fourth in state 3A Scholastic Bowl

Seeking to add a state title to their conference and region crowns, New Kent’s Scholastic Bowl team took on three other region winners during last Saturday’s 3A state competition held at William & Mary. Unfortunately, their competitors prevailed.

New Kent (0-3) lost to Culpeper (1-2), Blacksburg (2-1), and eventual state champion Cave Spring (3-0) to finish fourth in the state.

Team members are Nick Parker, Harrison Hunt, Josh Dore, Gunnar Carlson, Vivian Sanchez, Billy John, Reshyra Jadooram, Lauren Barney, Bryanna Underwood, and Elijah Greer. The team is coached by Matt Duckworth.
