Arts Alive offering scholarships

Arts Alive Inc. has announced that two scholarships will be available to local students.

The C. Herbert Brown Jr. Performing Arts Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior who is from the Arts Alive service areas of West Point, King William, New Kent, and King & Queen who plan to major or minor in performing arts or music education.

The Andy Conklin Visual Arts Scholarship is available to high school seniors who reside in one of the aforementioned areas who plan to major and minor in studio arts, art history, or art education.

Both scholarships are in the amount of $1,000 that can be applied to an accredited college or university for the 2017-18 year. A recipient of either scholarship will be eligible for the Dr. Shirley Carter Olsson scholarship, an additional $500 award to continue their education.
