Local students excel at Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School

New Kent students Samantha Miller (third from left) and Justin Mitchell (third from right), both whom attend Chesapeake Bay’s Governor’s School, recently participated in the 14th Annual Science Symposium at Virginia Commonwealth University. Miller and Mitchell presented results of two-year projects they each conducted to a panel of judges at the competition. Miller’s topic was “The Study of the Efficacy of Multiple Oyster Restoration Strategies,” while Mitchell conducted his research on “A Study on the Population of Anuilla Rostrata in the Chickahominy River.”
