McClellan nominated for service award

Senator Jennifer McClellan, who represents Charles City County, has been nominated for the Gabrielle Giffords Rising Star Award.

Presented by EMILY’s List, the award recognizes a woman who is serving in state or local office. McClellan is one of six women nationwide to receive the nomination.

“It has been an incredible honor to serve Virginia in the General Assembly,” McClellan said in a pressed release. “I’m both humbled and excited to have my service recognized by EMILY’s List for an award that celebrates the commitment to community and public service.”
