‘Charles City is for Lovers’

Fifth and sixth graders of Charles City Elementary School surround the “LOVE” sign that they designed as part of the Virginia Tourism Board’s motto “Virginia is for Lovers.” The group was asked by Charles City Planning Director Rachel Chieppa to come up with themes for the signs that depict characteristics of the county. Pictures include farming, cycling, fishing and hunting on the Chickahominy River, and natural wildlife. The signs will be displayed in the county’s courthouse complex area and will have hand-prints and names of all students who contributed to the artwork.
