St. Peter’s Parish announce award recipients

St. Peter’s Parish has announced the awarding of four one-year scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to recent graduates of New Kent High School.

Lucy Adamson, Sherese Bonner, Gunnar Carlson, and Justin Mitchell were announced as award winners at a recent ceremony. Adamson will be studying crop science at Virginia Tech, Bonner plans to major in pharmacy at the University of Virginia, Carlson intends to study international relations at Virginia Tech, and the area of marine biology will be Mitchell’s intended focus of study at the College of William and Mary.

The scholarships, named in memory of Louise Miller Clopton and William Boyd Clopton, are presented to graduates who demonstrate strong moral character, religious involvement, community service, motivation, and academic success.
