Locals earn academic recognition from John Tyler Community College for spring semester

Several Charles City and New Kent residents were recognized by John Tyler Community College for their high academic achievements for the Spring 2017 semester.

Nina Brundle, Aaron Randall, and Kaylin Seely, all of Quinton, were named to the college’s Honor’s List. Ashlee Free, also of Quinton, was named to the Dean’s List.

New Kent residents Cecilia Garner and John Sweat, as well as Charles City residents Laurie Burnette and Lena Duke, also received recognition for making the Honor’s List.

For a student to be named to the Honor’s List, they must accumulate a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher and completed 24 hours of course work. A student named to the Dean’s List must maintain a grade-point average of 3.2 or better while taking 12 or more credit hours.
