Haley Holland, a Providence Forge resident and rising senior at New Kent High School, has been recognized by the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) as a top scholar.

NSHSS presents awards to students who demonstrate outstanding leadership, scholarship, and community commitment.

“I am honored to recognize the hard work, sacrifice, and commitment that Haley has demonstrated to achieve this exceptional level of academic excellence,” said NSHSS Founder and Chairman Claes Nobel. “Haley is now a member of a unique community of scholars; a community that represents our very best hope for the future.”

Holland completed more than 300 hours of community service, three times as many as the required 100 hours. She will receive the President’s Volunteer Service Award and receive a signed certificate from the president of the United States.

NSHSS members automatically become lifetime members at the time of their initial membership, with the organization providing steps and resources from high school to college to career opportunities.
